The Hippodrome Theatre, opened in 1911, was the first motion picture theatre in Williamson, West Virginia. The Hippodrome closed in May 1921 to not compete with Banks’ new film theatre, presumably the Cinderella Theatre.

In subsequent years, the building was modified for other use and housed a JC Penney retail store for many years.
