Premiered 12 October 1896 at Hammerstein’s Olympia Music Hall Theatre in New York, New York. Released September 1896. / Mutoscope 68mm spherical 1.36:1 format. / The production was shot at approximately 36 frames per second. Mutoscope production number 88. The film was made for Biograph projection and was shown for the first Biograph system program. The film was also released in the USA in a 25-foot length. A portion or all of this film was edited into The Great Baltimore Fire (1904).

Synopsis: [From American Mutoscope promotional materials] This scene graphically portrays the rescuing of the vehicles and live stock from a burning barn. Through a mist of smoke the horses and cows are let out on a run, vehicles are dragged by, and the rush and excitement of such a scene is vividly shown. Smoke effects of this view are particularly attractive.
