Synopsis: [?] [From The Moving Picture World]? While prospecting for gold, Jim Brown is bitten by a rattlesnake, whose bite is deadly. He rushes home to his wife, who tries every means to save his life, but she realizes that whiskey is the one thing that is needed. The nearest village is many miles distant, and the liquor must be administered within the hour. Mrs. Brown appeals to Jake Wilson, the only neighbor, but Jake is drunk and refuses to give up his liquor. There is a lively struggle, in which a woman’s wit is matched against a drunkard’s brute strength. It is a struggle to save a dear one’s life. Mrs. Brown forces the bottle from Jake, rescues Jim, and by forcing Jake into sobriety, receives in the end, his everlasting thanks.
